Sustainability Officer

The Department of Chemistry and Chemical Biology (CCB) is aware of its social responsibility to protect the global foundations of life. The central tasks in teaching and research should be implemented in a sustainable and resource-conserving manner.

The department aims to reduce environmentally harmful activities and continue to offer high-quality research and teaching. The Sustainability Officer regularly discusses pressing sustainability issues with representatives of the teaching departments. The focus here is on climate and environmental protection, energy saving and the effective use of the available equipment infrastructure. In cooperation with TU Dortmund University's sustainability office , proposals are submitted to the Dean's Office that take into account both sustainability and economic efficiency.

In the area of teaching, the CCB department is involved in strengthening sustainability and climate protection in our society as part of the lecture series "Climate, Change, Values, Science and in the studium oecologicum .
